Our Journey:

Youth1st began to take shape after Owner and Operator, Don Jacks saw a necessity for better designed recreational programming in some communities of Manitoba.

Jacks, who served as the Executive Director for the Manitoba Lacrosse Association (2010-2016) began working with the Dakota Ojibway Police Services delivering History of Lacrosse and Fundamentals of Lacrosse workshops for 6 communities and continues to work with them all after 7 years.

Jacks' career started in Winnipeg where he honed his skills in the Red River Lacrosse Association and the Manitoba Lacrosse Association.

Lacrosse took Jacks all around the world from community clubs, to provincial teams, to national championships, an athletic scholarship to Whittier College (California), being drafted to the Jr. A Orangeville Northmen (Ontario), representing Canada at The Ales Hrebesky Memorial Tournament in Czech Republic (2014, 2015) and playing for Team Germany in the World Indoor Box Lacrosse Championships. (Onandaga, 2015)

Currently Jacks plays for the Winnipeg Ravens Lacrosse Team and is Head Coach for Manitoba U19 Men’s Box Lacrosse for the North American Indigenous Games. (2014-2017)

The goal of Youth1st is to provide current and future generations with high quality lacrosse programming, while outlining a path to success in lacrosse and in life.

The company’s focus is on youth from ages 7 to 25 to promote healthy living practices with the Creator's Game being the tool of the trade!

Our mission is to be a catalyst in helping build bright futures throughout Manitoba from Fundamental Skills Development to International Competition.

Youth1st provides students with world class lacrosse teachings in a safe and positive learning environment through schools, arenas, gyms, fields, and community centres.
