Big thanks to the Rok Day Camp!
Over the past 8 weeks, Youth1st Lacrosse has been working with the Rok Day Camp in Portage La Prairie at the historic Centennial Arena.
Once a week, every Wednesday morning....we came to play.
From fundamental scoops to competitive Lacrosse battles, the days were spent pushing ourselves physically, communicating with our teammates, learning how our unique skills can benefit the team, discovering and appreciating respect for our opponents, finished off with a hand shake at the end.
If there is one thing that I hope the youth will be walking away with from this summer,
it's that little voice inside all Lax lovers minds that says,
"Lacrosse makes me feel good."
Big thanks to Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council and Dave Courrier for the opportunity and your help setting this up, Lynne Parker for helping organize the event, all the Camp Leaders who were there every week taking part in the games, and all the youth who pushed themselves hard every week.
Looking forward to catching some Portage games in the near future! :)
Thanks very much for the awesome card too!
Coach Don
