A lesson for us all

This past weekend the lacrosse world erupted after National Lacrosse League star, Lyle Thompson was on the receiving end of derogatory comments made by an arena announcer at the professional level.

In the game of lacrosse, the competitive spirit can run very high but there is absolutely no place for this in our game.

Youth1st Lacrosse commends Lyle Thompson not only for his unbelievable talent on the floor, but also for stepping forward to speak openly, honestly, and respectfully about an ignorance that is still very real in our communities.

But more importantly about reconciliation.

Thank you Lyle for all that you do on and off the floor!

Lyle Thompson holds the record for the most career points in Division I with 400 and the most career assists with 225.[1] He shared the 2014 Tewaaraton Trophy with his brother Miles while winning the award again in 2015 and won the Turnbull Award for the top collegiate attackman twice.[2][3][4] (Wikipedia)
